Conscious Sedation

There is now a way to have dentistry completed comfortably and not remember a thing about it. By taking medication by mouth at our dentist office you can have treatment done without any anxiety. It is called conscious sedation. You are asleep but still conscious and able to answer questions and follow instructions like open and close, but you will not remember the appointment the next day.

Conscious sedation is ideal for the fearful patient who is putting off much needed treatment. They have usually had uncomfortable experiences in the past, and conscious sedation allows them to totally relax. The busy patient who wants a long visit and wants a lot of treatment done comfortably is an ideal candidate for conscious sedation. The muscles of your jaw and face are more relaxed with conscious sedation so your mouth can stay open longer in a comfortable state. Conscious sedation is also ideal for patients with a strong gag reflex or those who have difficulty with instruments in the mouth while conscious. Conscious sedation is safe and effective. Our trained dental team monitors the sedated patient closely throughout the procedure. Health conditions and current medications are researched for each patient.

Conscious sedation may be just the ticket for you or someone you know who needs to improve their dental health but have been putting it off for one of the reasons mentioned above.
